A Winter Pyre - 2012

Written February 9, 2012
Winter chilling to the bone
Wind screaming like a banshee
I'm lying here alone
Imagining you beside me
With your hands stroking my skin,
my sanity is not safe.
everywhere your mouth has been,
I feel your stubble chafe
I want to feel the burn
as you build the fire higher
I'll burn you in return
Care to join me on the pyre?
Like the phoenix, we'll rise again
emerging from the ash
We'll feel the flames lick our skin
as our tortured bodies thrash
our burning bodies fused
Paradise having been defined
We lay sated and bemused
For all this I yearn
This truth I will not hide
Come to me and burn
While winter rages outside

Brilliant.
Voting up and awesome. The passion came through as beauty. Passionate love IS beautiful.

The sincerity of the passion is strong, but I'm not sure the fairly regular rhymes & slant rhymes & the irregular line feet are the best vehicle for the FEELING.
